Channel letters are typically custom fabricated aluminum letters and logos that will mount to a flat surface.  Internally illuminated letters have acrylic faces and modern low-voltage LED lighting mounted inside.  Letters may also be fabricated to be Halo-Lit (lighting cast onto wall behind letters only), a dual-lit combination of face and halo illumination, or completely non-illuminated.
